God’s Love, a skit for 4 silent clowns, written by John Gravley
MAIN IDEA: show that God loves us even when we feel unlovable or unworthy of God’s love.
HELPERS: at least four with two being clowns or all as clowns.
SETTING: can be anywhere. Need four chairs or can sit on the floor.
PROPS: a sign for Jesus to wear, some snack food and a game.
SKITS: the two (non-clowns or clowns) are sitting interacting with each other. Over to the side, a clown enters that is very clumsy and awkward. This clown falls down. The clown also drops some things the clown is carrying. The people sitting down watch this clown and laugh at the clown.
Soon the awkward clown moves over to the two people to join them but they don’t want the awkward clown to join them. They ignore the awkward clown and the awkward clown walks away sad.
The two people take out a snack and start sharing it with each other. The awkward clown watches what they are doing and goes back over to see if they will share but they ignore the awkward clown again and will not let this clown join them.
The awkward clown goes away again. Soon the clown wearing the Jesus sign comes out and the two people see the “Jesus” clown and invite Jesus over. They start to interact with Jesus and offer their snack to Jesus.
While Jesus is interacting with them, Jesus sees the awkward clown and notices how sad the awkward clown looks. Jesus invites the awkward clown over to join them. The awkward clown is not sure but Jesus keeps motioning for the awkward clown to come over.
Finally, the awkward clown goes over and joins the others and they all are happy sharing with each other and with Jesus.
