Israeli/Arab War is a one minute drama, or quick blackout sketch, courtesy of The Red Skelton Hour episode, “Little Old Rainmaker, He“.
The Arab/Israeli War sketch is one of those clown skits that will need to be updated, for current events. At the time, the Arab/Israeli conflict was in the news. The basic sketch goes like this:
Israeli: [to compatriot] Let me show you how to shoot an Arab. [yells across the sandbags] Hey, Achmed!
Achmed [standing up] Yes? [gets shot]
Arab #2: [talking to the audience] That’s a good idea! I’ll try that. [shouts] Hey, John! [nothing happens] Hey, Irving!
Israeli: Who’s calling out my name?
Arab #2: [standing up] It’s me! [gets shot]
Clearly, this is a dated sketch. Unless, of course, you update it to match current circumstances — or well-known classic scenarios. For example, at the time of this writing, Russia has invaded Ukraine. So you could simply change the names and costumes to match, possibly Boris and Vladimir.
Alternatively, you could use well-known war scenes, such as:
- The U.S. Civil War, with appropriate Northern and Southern accents, names, and costumes.
- World War II, Nazis versus Americans, etc.
