How TV Stars Make Love – With cue cards, of course! What could possibly go wrong?
How TV Stars Make Love is a 1 minute drama, or comedy blackout sketch, from The Red Skelton Hour episode, For Better … Or Worse Like George Appleby Got. These are a collection, of short comedy sketches, in the spirit of Vaudeville blackout skits.
Props: premade cue cards
Clowns: 4 (any type) – 2 males, at least 1 female
The basic scenario is that the clowns are demonstrating how a TV show would film a romantic scene. The male & female romantic couple come to the middle of the stage and embrace romantically. The final set of cards read, “Will you marry me?” As the female clown reads it out loud, she looks at the male cue card holder. “Really?” He nods yes. And, she walks off with the cue card holder to get married!
You could then end this with pathos, the abandoned clown on stage pantomiming his sadness and loss to the audience. Or the other cue card holder might chase him romantically, or …
