The Parking Ticket is a short vaudeville skit, aka. quick blackout. I first saw it on The Red Skelton Show episode,”Climb Upon my Knee, Dummy Boy“. It goes like this:
Props:
- Something to represent a car. It could be a cardboard cut out, an oversized child’s toy, or even made from balloon animals.
- Phony plastic fire hydrant. Again, either an actual prop if you have one, a cardboard cut out, or whatever you can come up with.
- Police officer outfit for the Cop character clown
Participants
Only 2 clowns are needed. One is the driver of the car, one is the police officer writing the ticket.
Parking Ticket skit
Police officer Red is writing up a ticket for Vincent Price in his sports car. There’s a yellow fire hydrant in front of the car. Vincent protests that he didn’t see it, but Red writes him the ticket anyway. After Vincent drives off, Red sees a Rolls Royce down the street. So, he picks up the fire hydrant and walks that way!
