New Clown Shoes – replacement patriotic clown shoes

Previously, I’ve written about using extra-large “normal” shoes as inexpensive clown shoes. However, for my own clowning I’ve been doing something different. I own a pair of white Nike shoes, with a picture of the American flag on the front. They seemed to fit my character, and I’ve received many compliments on them.

So, naturally, Nike has discontinued making them.

This leaves me with the issue of (eventually) needing new shoes, hopefully something along the same lines if I can find them. Lo and behold, I found the pair of Converse All Star Hi Chucks shoes you see on the page, which I’ll be ordering shortly ($39.95 in sizes up to 17, as of this writing). In some ways, they’re superior to my current shoes, in that they’re more “colorful” — and Raynbow is a very colorful clown.

Now, here’s the point: this isn’t an ad for Converse shoes (although I’ve owned some in the past and been happy). The idea is, look for other “special” shoes that fit your style, and feel free to experiment. For example, while searching I came across a pair of very “cool” shoes with a fire motif. Now, I wouldn’t use those for my character, but I can imagine fire safety clowns (or perhaps “speedy” clowns) that would.

What can you find to make your feet happy, that will fit your character?
