The Affairs of Annabel (1938) starring Lucille Ball, Jack Oakie
Product Description
Lucille Ball is at her comic best in the kind of screwball zaniness that made her famous. The film takes a good- natured poke at Hollywood and all the craziness that’s involved in creating a movie star. Lucy is Annabel, a scatter- brained actress whe will do just about anything to make herself known. And she has just the right press agent (Jack Oakie) for the job. He comes up with one outrageous publicity stunt after another-all of which back fire with hilarious consequences. His driving obsession for lunatic ideas lands Annabel in a bizarre family situation, then into the clutches of a pair of “most-wanted” criminals. Finally, he gets Annabel a load of publicity, although it’s not exactly the kind she had in mind: she winds up in prison! It’s fast-paced, sheer madness from beginning to end.
