End of the Parade is a one minute drama, or quick blackout sketch, courtesy of The Red Skelton Hour episode, “Little Old Rainmaker, He“.

End of the Parade shows how three exhausted members of a marching band, visually demonstrated just how tired they are. All three are silent — showing, not telling.

Cast: three clowns, any type, non-speaking

Props: costumes for the three members of the marching band, a baton to twirl, a drum, and a flag on a pole.

End of the Parade begins an exhausted baton twirler, who drops her baton, and weakly walks on.

Next comes a drum major, weakly banging his drum as he crosses the stage.

Finally, the flag bearer walks across the stage. He’s holding the flag to make it look like he’s been impaled by the flag!
