The New Janitor (1914) starring Charlie Chaplin
In short, The New Janitor is a funny, fast-paced silent Charlie Chaplin comedy. Here, The Little Tramp is working as an inept janitor at a bank. How inept? He not only spills water several stories onto the bank president, he nearly falls out of the window and kills himself while washing the windows!

Later on, the villainous manager’s plan to rob the bank is exposed. Caught by Helen Carruthers – whom he holds at gunpoint — she sets off an alarm, and it’s Charlie the Little Tramp to the rescue! Despite a recurring bit with his fight with the elevator, he makes it to the right floor in time, and manages to win the day!
