In We Faw Down, Laurel and Hardy are trying to sneak out to a poker game. They lie to their wives about going to the Orpheum Theatre, and sneak off. But, on the way, they stop to help a pair of young ladies. They unintentionally get soaked, and get invited to the girls’ apartment to wait while their clothes dry. But one of their boyfriends is a professional boxer …. And their wives are terrified, once they learn that the theater has burned down!

Cast
- Stan Laurel … Stan. Ollie’s dimwitted friend.
- Oliver Hardy … Ollie. Stan’s bossy, not quite as dimwitted friend.
- Vivien Oakland (Star of Midnight) … Mrs. Hardy. Oliver’s wife, who’s horrified to learn that the theater that Stan went to has burnt down! Until he comes home, with a wild story about how they survived.
- Bess Flowers (The Shadow 1937) … Mrs. Laurel. Stan’s wife, also frightened, then angry, about/with her husband.
- Kay Deslys (Perfect Day) … Kelly’s girlfriend. The girl whose hat gets blown under a car. Stan’s going to retrieve it, until Oliver decides to take the credit. So they push the car forward, and get soaked by a sanitation truck. And, she decides to take the boys to their apartment to dry off. Surely, her jealous boyfriend won’t mind. Once they’re all drunk in the apartment, she seems to take joy in teasing Stan.

- This short served as the basis for the final sequence of the feature “Block-heads” ten years later.
- This was remade and expanded using the idea of Ollie being sick from the short Be Big! resulting in the feature Sons of the Desert.
